i thought there are some good infos in here worth to take a look
would like to start out saying that it's extremely hard to be precise on making something like this as different scenarios call for different moves, however what I think im about to discuss is fruitful for all players and a basic grounds to operate off of.
2on2 Match ups:
PZ v PZ
Ok, here is some of the BIG time flaws people have in this match. For one, the opposing team could pic ZR while your team picked ZP. You have the automatic disadvantage being the pickers because you could go FG(Fast Goon) + 9pool(Speedlings), meanwhile your opponents know what races you are and are already going 12pool and 3 gate. The cure for this problem as ZP race pickers is to operate under one system if you run into that propsition: 9pool + 7zd and SCOUT. By doing this you've already got a strong build going, and you can adapt to the game style before you mess up and go 7ZD instead of 3gate. 9 Pool is extremely versatile simply beacuse if you know that you have an opponent who is zerg, and he is in fact 9 pooling, you and your ally can just rush in and force him to sunk and pick off ling along the way. You have the advantage of a 9pool over a 12pool only 2-3 minutes into the game. If you don't act on that very quick you're going to find yourself getting outmassed and eventually ran over. The key here is, FIND THE ZERG AND MESS HIM UP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. Now if you run into this situation where you are going 7zd, 9p, and you find the R person TOSS, your ally can easily adapt to this by going 3 gate. Because you 9 pooled you then have the opportunity to cut off the streaming zealots running around the map while you're attacking the zerg. Because we all know a TOSS ally will help his 12pooling ally if he gets rushed by a 9 pool / 2gate toss.
Now we have covered the basics of this, and will talk about the advanced type of playing. If you run into the scenario above as a ZERG your first immediate decision must be what we call 1 HATCH MUTALISK. The reason that this works is beacuse when you're toying with the opponent zerg, he primarily focused on surviving and otumassing the other zerg. The way I do it, is I 9pool, take ONE drone off the gas, continue to mine gas, and when i have the gas / money i immediatly upgrade to a lair. I continue to pump lings until i hit about 16/17 psi, where in which i make an overlord + 1drone. Also keep in mind that this strat is advanced and it does require that you do not lose many lings and create havoc on the opponent zerg. With this strategy you are putting a lot of pressure on your opponents which is forciing them to be extremely basic. And by that i mean no gas / 4gate / 3hat ling. When you start to get outmassed in the field of battle this is when you as a zerg player must start to defense up. It is EXTREMELY important that you build your base in a manner that you can survive with only drones and 2-3 sunks. This is feasible. I did this last night and I will post the rep up as soon as I get home. Because you have completed all of these tasks you've then found yourself at an advantage that was previously a disadvantage because you were going to get outmassed. Also to keep in mind you must have a strong P ally who is capable of holding off a 2v1 after the inital invasions. Now you have Mutalisks flying around, and chances are your opponents with all the presure did not scout you and they have no idea that you have mutas on the way. So now you're fighting with 3 mutalisks, against all ground units and you can take out the econemy, AND DEFEND your base which ultimatley with lead to a surprising win. These are the basics and advanced strats in a 2on2 match PZ v PZ. *Note this is for the map BGH / Hunters *
PZ v ZZ
We ALL hate being the PZ v ZZ. Why? Because 9 times out of 10 you will find that they are RANDOMED ZZ. In which case it's not difficult for the ZERG to hold, however the protoss to hold. The reason for this is, is because if you TWO GATE, you are at a horrible disadvantage. Especially two zergs who can micro, I don't care how good you are it is damn near impossible to take out the microed lings. The reason for this is, is beacause bye the time you have 1 zealot, you've got 8 lings in your base. You have to pull off of your mine to compensate for the lack of units in hopes of killing the lings. It is EXTREMELY hard to micro that. The only advice that I can give for a protoss is as SOON as you see both 9 poolers go into your base STAR TO BUILD TIGHT AS FUCK and throw down a FORGE ASAP. If you can get that cannon up you should be golden, because your ally has all the time in the world to do what he has to do to win the 2v1. ZZ is the hardest thing for a single player to come across by. But if you are able to hold the rush you will more then likely win the game.
Now turing this scenario around into the ZERG side. I personally think that the best option for a zerg getting rushed by two zergs is to 9pool which you should already be doing, and sunk. Placement of sunks are SO SO SO important that its not even funny. You can literally hold off 24 +++ lings with 2-3 sunks placed well, and 12 lings + drones of your own. Again, holding off the rush is the most IMORTANT thing that you can do in a ZZ match. This should be your primary focus, beacuse I know that in the past I have stopped giving a shit beacuse I would think, whatever my ally has this. No folks this is NOT the case two good zerg players who know how to play will demolish your ally if YOU YOURSELF LOSE TO THE RUSH. So just keep that in mind, NEVER STOP TRYING GIVE YOUR ALLY AS MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE TO DO WHAT IT IS THAT HE HAS TO DO IN ORDER TO WIN THE GAME NEVER EVER GIVE UP DUE TO A x2 9p Rush.
Now, If you're lucky as a TOSS and your opponents are close and you know that they are both zerg HERE IS YOUR BEST OPTION. Here is the B/O ; 8/9 Pylon > Forge > Assimilator > Cannon > Cannon > Gate > Gate > 100gas take 3 probe off upgrade Weapons > Gate. And mass. You will never lose a game to a 9pool failed rush. If you do this strat it is the MOST effective in the BGH game vs a double Z. Why? While the Zergs are rushing, you are pumping your econmeny and booming while the zergs are using all their larvae into lings to try and mass and kill you guys, you are at the advantage of taking over the MID GAME. Also to keep in mind, mechanics are important in this type of match up. but because it's PZ vs ZZ your ally should have an overlord floating over the bases as to see how you need to adapt in accordance to what they are going. Advanced strat, but basic theory.
Meanwhile as ZERG you must also adapt to this scenario. I use the 1HAT Muta technique.
ZZ v PZ
Now, as the two zergs your obvious target is to kill asaply. Here is how I would play a game of ZZ v PZ. I would tell my ally to do a normal 9pool rush build. Keep making lings and try to do what he can while hes out and about. Meanwhile while i'm the other zerg, I will do a 1Hat Muta build I won't even upgrade my Zergling speed because your opponents will be so focused on defending that they will not realize what color of lings and how many each of their opponents have in ling amount. Take advantage of this. ZZ v ZP is perfect for your ally go 9pool and you to have plenty of time to throw down your Spire. You again run into the situation where you have Air units fighting Ground units. *Note depending on the scenario of player skill can the outcome vary* The other way of looking at this match is you can double 9 pool rush, kill an opponent, then MASS THE FUCK UP ON DEFENSE and when the other guy counters you kill his army with dual lings attacks and survival of your base. The pressure is then on the P to build up what he can to kill you but meanwhile because his first inital attack failed you have the advantage simply beacuse you are zerg and numbers is what counts.
I will edit this later, as I am tired but I will eventually put all the matches up in here for your enjoyment.
Thank you
